This is a Quick Introductory Blog. I have been blogging about my daughter educational endeavors for some time now. I have also Vlogged about it on my personal Blog, however I'm wanting to Blog about my trials and tribulations in becoming a homeschooling mom. Which I know My daughter will not be two until July. She was born in 2012 which means that right she will be graduating high school in 2030 :) ... Clever huh!!! :P What I really want to bring to this Blog is home schooling organization, tips, tricks. Supply Reviews Things I like Things I don't Like. What works for us What doesn't work for us.
I think its important to discuss why I deciding to home school. Let me count the ways haha!! Okay I'm going to give short and simple answer. I like having a say in my child's Curriculum thanks to common core no one in public school has that privilege anymore. Public school is sometimes to Politically Correct and everyone is now labeled a victim or a bully and its strange. I personally like the Freedom and Flexibility of home school. I enjoy the idea of being able to pack up in the middle of the school year for an outing , vacay or anything that floats my boat. School food its just bad its really more of a problem for her but then you say well you could sit down and make adorable food boxes....Go you but I could see that getting old 3rd day ... PB&J anyone wait we can't have peanut butter anymore :/ I looked at the food list that is now excluded nightmare you moms that do it amazing : )
To be fair to the con side I will say I'm going to miss a few Public lets start with the first thing 9 uninterrupted hours of mom time, the things I could get accomplished. that's really all I have and yes I know here is the socialization point but that kinda hits a mute point with me. I mean I love the idea of her being in a room with a bunch of people who are the exact same age as she is because we all know how often that comes up in real life. In reality I deal with people who are a good 50 years older and one person who is 25 years younger its quiet the age gap of people in my life. So that doesn't really strike me as a winning argument. I don't intend to lock her in the house alone and away from the world we will most likely get out.
However, There is still one more teeny tiny option private and we live in a metro area and I just got sticker shock...$.$ are you sure this is preschool ? I mean for 5,000 a year I would assume you are tackling calculus or something my college wasn't that expensive. Seriously what happened oh and that's not the worse there was one that was 15,000 a year thats more then my car :O Think about it who affords that.
So here we are at the start of my Journey with my First child ... Class of 2030
